>Wayne - Thanks - Originally it will be for VFP dbf's and if need be we will convert the view and sequal code to go to SQL server, althought I don't think that will ever happen. Mostly salesmens talk to confort them about building a system using DBF's. The first of 4 applications was built 4 years ago and the last approx 15 months ago. Never has a single file corruption in all that time with people pounding on it all day long. So we are staying with DBF's until such time as the files become too big and we need to step up to Sequal Server.

If they do go SQL, buy a box and dedicate it to SQL Server.

>If I am not mistaken I talked with you approx. a year ago about a Workers' Comp Policy Services and Underwriting System. We look at several commercial packages including the one you pointed out but due to the costs involved I decided to write it myself.

Yeah - we have since moved portions of the WC package to SQL Server, and for another client wrote a Commercial Property (Inland Marine) package with just SQL as the backend using the same framework. Last week we helped a client write the specifications for a GL package to run on the same system as their WC package (VFP/SQL).

>This will end seven months of my life devoted to WC insurance. Now I need to get on with my retirement.

Congratulations... I look forward to that day as well - just may be a while.

>They will sure be glad to shut the lights out on the AS400 system they are currently using.

I bet!
