Forgot to mention that once I replaced the SQL above with something else that filled a cursor with the same results, I never got the error again, no matter how long I let my timer run. I installed at the client's 9 locations and never got the problem again. weird.

>>Yes, we are looking at the VFP7err.log. In one case we found the problem repeated on the same line. It c0000005'd following a procedure that brought up a form under a specific condition. That form contains a grid. That grid is populated by a single table select statement. We added "nofilter" and the problem went away.

>>The email/c05 problem occurs on one workstation in our development environment. Although client also uses Outlook 2000 the users experiencing the problem are not set up to notify when mail arrives and the timing of the errors there does not seem to coincide with email activity.
>>
>>Other errors seem to occur at random - on login, on a menu hit, during a process, or if they walk away and return to the workstation. Some days there is just as much use but no errors.
>>
>>I am very interested to hear what you found to be the source of the problem you resolved.

We can recreate the c0000005 error under one condition - that the person running the process has their Outlook 2000 email open and they have it set to notify them when an email has been recv'd. It has to be the setting that brings up a message dialog saying "You have new mail".

>>>I recently solved a problem I was having with some seemingly random C5 errors popping up. Although my problem had nothing to do with emails or the conditions you've identified, it sounds like it might be the same issues as what I had.
