If I cannot obtain a connection, I keep getting and error pops up even when I have the on error set on. If the connection is not made I get an SQL Server Error:1231 Connection failed.

That in itself is not the problem since, Im testing for that and want to let the operater know there is a SQL server problem.

But, how do I capture the error via ON ERROR or TRY CATCH ENDTRY, without the error displaying on the screen as a "Microsoft SQL Server Logn" [OK] error that pops up on the screen? I would like to just trap it and alert the user/operator.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
