Here's a good one about the media:
Jose Padilla,an american, became a moslim, married an Egyptian and hung out in afghanistan. It has not been demonstrated that he did anything illegal. But he is accused, without right of representation, of conspiring to 'dirty bomb' something or another. The alleged facts have to be fuzzy, so the fearless leaders have a path to backtrack on when they get caught in a lie. Jose is locked away from all of his constitional rights.

Yet, Asher Karni, an Israeli businessman, was caught red handed, purchasing triggers for a nuclear bomb (for Pakistan) and lying about it on a customs manifest, gets to live in luxury, in his rabbi's custody (and home!) and has full access to his lawyers!

The world works in strange ways these days! The New York Proaghanda services did a good job fuzzing this one over too!:-) AT least we released a few thirteen year olds from Guantanamo!

>I don't know if things were visible better on HDTV, but the Janet Jackson debacle, at least as seen on live regular TV, was merely a whitish spot that suggested that the breast might be visible. How the population of the U.S. has blown that so out of proportion is something to behold!

>Now gay marriage is on the front burner. When are the PEOPLE going to get to things that are REALLY WORRISOME??? The media and your politicians can distract the PEOPLE at will. WMD non-existence is now a non-issue, loss of personal rights is now a non-issue, the pre-emption policy is now a non-issue. So many things that REALLY matter are relegated to the background for the sake of trivial matters that have little bearing on people's day-to-day lives.
