Thanks

I will download the the sdk from qb (I need to review it for a proposal). The transactions will be on a "local" house server (mom and pop).

I have some experience with automation script. Lot's of OCX script too.
In fact, OLE script may be my primary "language". I especially like VFPs implementation. Comprable VB script seems slightly more symbolic and wordier than the VFP translation. VFP OLE would be a great development platform.

I've seen presentations of .NET. The class definition format was familiar. A lot like VFP (if I remember correctly), and the procedural script seemed a hybrid implementation of OLE. Is my perception near the mark?

I have no idea how VB.NET data objects look. I assume it's ADO, or augmentable through VFP COM.

OOP has kind of blurred the line. The biggest difference seems not to be one of syntax. It seems to be the data objects. Of course VFP seems to offer more properties and events on the GUI side. It's all pretty fuzzy. Script seems to be evolving towards a grand unified OLE hybrid:)
