Hi Mike,

Interesting stuff. I believe there is a finite amount of matter in the universe. The matter tends to gather together by attraction. Also, matter seem to be in constant movement and change.

Although the amount of matter is constant, its dimensions or size change. For example, the amount of space occupied by water would differ depending on whether it is in a liquid, gas, or solid state.

The binding between the element is very strong. For example, on a very cold day, water in the engine block of an automobile may freeze. The space needed by water increases when it changes into ice, and water will not be restricted to the confines of the engine block, and will brake the engine block to obtain the space needed to maintain its atomic structure. The dimension of matter could very much more dramatically when the normal atomic pattern of the matter is disturbed, for example, if matter were collapes into a black hole.

As the know basic element bind together in an atomic dance to form various kinds of matter, so does the universe as a whole seem to be in some kind of dance, with strong relations between the pieces.

If time can be faster of slower, it has to be relative to some reference. Our reference of time has always been the relationship of the earth to the sun within our solar system.

It is likely that this is a far to restrictive definition of time and could lead to incorrect results.

An atomic clock can be very accurate, but would be meaningless to us unless it was in sync with our solar system, which itself is a poor clock, because the movements of the planets could be speeding up or down and not at all consistent over very long periods of time.

There is evidence of ice ages contrasted with periods of more moderate temperate over earths billions of years history, which would suggest that the earth may not rotate around the sun at a constant distance.

What a different concept of time I would have, if I existed in a pure energy state, like electricity or some kind of pure light. In such a state I could consume a lot of space, because my speed would allow me to partically be everywhere at once.
