Peter,

I think your email is at the heart of all the nasty emails going back and forth here. I would bet that others here have the same feelings you do.

But there are others who are at the opposite extreme.

By stating that "His proclamation would have been acceptible and not so threatening - at least for me - if he had said that vfp is still in his heart and that he's just playing one more card" you are stating, at least to me, that you've developed a certain relationship with VFP as a developement tool.

I know for me, I don't have anywhere near that level of attachment to VFP. And obviously many others don't, as evidenced by the people who used to be on the VFP forum often, and now only show up on the .Net forum.

With the 2 different types of people, there are bound to be some heated arguements as we have witnessed.

>>>Perhaps he should have kept his thoughts to himself simply because not only he has made a living thanks to vfp. Many others want to continue, they still think it's a viable product.

>Why this reaction, Dave? Did I say that he says that vfp can't be used to develop database software? No, I didn't say that, of course not. Perhaps you should rephrase.

>But here, at this point, I indeed want to say that Whil has suggested that vfp is nearly dead, not explictly suggested, but implictly he did suggest that.
