>But what do you think of my idea? The idea is, reformulated: Let someone publish vfp e-books and invite our esteemed authors to write at least updates.>>
>>Unfortunately it does not work in this world. The moment a publisher makes it available it appears in the internet or NNTP posted for free. Then a small publisher/author does not make enough money. It is tough as it is now. Pirates abound. :(

>Do you think that the recent e-book versions have negatively influenced sales of the (Hentzenwerke) books? I haven't heard this reason so far, but your above argument would imply that this has been one of the causes of the drop in sales.
Peter, the drop in sales has been stated here time and again by numerous people including some of the authors. There are not enough VFP programmers buying books. Why? Because there are not enough VFP programmers. This is not difficult to grasp. The move to eBooks will not solve this problem as it will not in itself create more buyers. The VFP market iro number of developers is what it is. Its not the medium, its the market. It doesnt offer enough profit.
