Title:
Virtual Print Driver Problem
I work for a company that just has started deploying WinXP to the users desktops, an upgrade from Win98. The problem we are experianceing is that we would like to set all users up as a restricted user to the computer. We have everything working as it should except one program. We use a print driver from Hyland that is suppose to take anything sent to it and convert it to a tiff image for imorting into another program. I can print to this printer as administrator and as a power user under winXP, but get an error when printing as a restricted user. Looking in the log files I fint a print error, "The document "xxxx" owned by "xxxx" failed to print. Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 3003 (0xbbb). Looking this error up on google I come up with a few things and mostly all say its caused by a corrupted print driver and that the print spooler needs to be stopped and restarted. As a restricted user there is no acceess to the print spooler to do this restart. Does anyone else have any ideas or solutions? As I said, it works fine as administrator and as a power user, but not as a restricted user, so i am guessing its more of a permissions problem than anything, but need help into identifying what to give permissions to.
Thanks
Ron
