>>Whil, you were my hero. I have almost eaten your DevGuide. But right now I feel an urge to critizise you. You must realize that you are a man of influence. You have the power to start a self-fullfilling prophecy. Foxtalk is now going down. That high-quality mag will be missed, for sure, at least by me. But you must realize that your words might even bring vfp itself down....

Tommy, I understand your point, but let me make clear: When I state that Whil's 'words might even bring vfp itself down' I don't say that he's purposely trying to kill the fox. But there are other mechanisms that can lead to such an end and I'm referring to one of such other mechanisms.

But I have to admit that, thinking about this whole affair last night in my bed trying to catch sleep, a thought suddenly came to mind. MS has threatened especcially Whil last summer (eula/linux). That period may have had an emotional impact on Whil and that may have influenced his recent decision and proclamation(s). Perhaps it's all not solely a matter of rationalistic, business decisions, but maybe there's also an irrational, emotional factor. And I even cannot exclude the possibility that the factor has elements of revenge. I hope Whil will not think of this hunch as an example of a 'vale invective'. If I'm wrong, then Whil can easily react on this message and tell so.
Groet,
