I must register my surprise at your statement above!

While I admit that I, personally, have bought several Hentzenwerkes VFP books as much to "support the community" as for the actual content, that is the least sensible/business-savvy reason possible when you get right down to it. It's almost an embarrassment just to admit it.

I think there's general concensus that probably somewhere between 10%-15% of actual VFP developers use online forums and such for anything VFP-related. Should we blame the 85%-90% who never use online forums for poor VFP book sales?... that sure sounds silly yet it also sounds far more legitimate than blaming people who prefer to learn their trade the good old fashioned way rather than copying book examples into production code.

I can tell you that, of all the Hentzenwerkes book I have bought, there is only 1 single piece of the "sample code" that I have ever used, and that was only to confirm my understanding. It had to do with the new VFP7 feature of passing arrays.

My opinion on the matter of poor book sales volumes has far more to do with MS than with Hentzenwerkes or people who ply their trade similarly to the way WalterM does.
