Marcia,

>Personally, I am surprised at how slow sales have been for MegaFox...

I believe there are maybe a couple of other things in play here, not related to your worth. :-)

The economy has very likely put a damper on purchase of books overall and computer books, in particular. Back in 2000 when I had plenty of good-paying contract work, I would go to a bookstore and buy 2 or 3 books at a time on a subject I was learning, like DHTML, JavaScript, etc.

Today, I mostly spend a few hours in the bookstore gleaning ideas and tips here and there, but seldom buying, due to budget constraints. However, if the economy once again started booming in IT work (which could be about to happen), I and others would probably be more likely to purchase regularly. This has nothing to do with your worth.

Second, I also find lots of help online, both in forums like this and on sites like devx, CoDe, gotdotnet, C# Corner, and so forth. This has nothing to do with your worth.

Third, I'm learning .NET as a supplement to my toolkit and more likely to look at books related to that. This has nothing to do with your worth.

These points do not address what I SHOULD do to support the community -- they are just a reflection of my personal reality at the moment. Maybe others have experienced similar things.

That being said, I still think there might be a good market for some more Fox books, although it might take a paradigm shift in how they are prepared, produced, marketed and distributed -- if there are enough topics to still cover that would be absolutely compelling. (You and Andy have covered so many there may not be any left!)

Anyway, thanks to you and other authors for all the effort you have expended on these projects.
