The RstoCursor I thought about using because what is returned from the stored procedure must be a usable cursor to report on. If I am making this way to complicated I would not be suprised (I am rather new to ado). My main goal was to be able to present at our department meeting a list of methods to connect and retrieve data (for reporting - for now) for our department to set as a standard for moving our VFP applications to a SQL Server backend. If ODBC is the easiest way to go and there is very little difference that is just fine, but I have to be complete in my analysis.

Kelly,
I'm still lost at CursorToXML() need :) Of course might there be but you've the code and know what you need.
As I remember in your original message there was CursorAdapter. If right, then why RsToCursor() ? CursorAdapter is well suited for ADO recordset and to you it's just another VFP cursor.
Either ODBC or OLEDB you'd get your data easily into a cursor adapter and use. Unfortunately you're not a PUTM too like me :) There were many samples on it in the past (and might there be anytime). From downloads section get Mark McCasland's CA builder. I'm sure it'd help a lot.
