... not sure if I should jump in here, but here goes anyway. I wonder if one reason VFP books are not selling as well as they once were is that it appears that there aren't as many new VFP developers coming on line as there once was. Someone new to VFP will find the books very valuable, but the pros will not need them as much.

I am still learning VFP, have written a few applications (for my own work), and have come close to selling one commercial app (but no deal). I have bought quite a few of the Hentzenwerke books, and I don't know how I could have learned as much and as rapidly as I have (even after studying these forums and raiding the internet).

Marcia, I have bought Kilofox -- it is excellent! -- and have learned a lot, and am still reading it and learning new things as I need them. I have not bought Megafox because (a) I'm not professional (yet) and given my zero professional income from VFP development, I can't justify the cost of buying every book I'd like to; (b) I haven't finished my learning curve from Kilofox; and (c) I haven't seen the advertising that convinces me that it would be to my benefit to throw away Kilofox and replace it with Megafox.

Finally, I'm reluctant to put a huge investment in VFP materials right now (including VFP upgrades) because the debates on this forum about the future of VFP make me nervous about how much time and money I should put into it -- I ask myself frequently if I shouldn't be putting my study time and financial resources into something else (even though I really love the Fox).

Anyway, I hope this provides another perspective to this thread ... and thanks to all of you who have been my teachers!

>One of the reason that MegaFox doesn't sells so well could be that people think that it's a second edition of KiloFox because they named similarly. At least that what I thought until I read the book itself and realized that it's not the case.

>Hmmmm. You may have a point there...

>I consider both of your books to be one of the best VFP books I ever read and I keep shorcuts to there eBooks copies on my desktop for references.

>Thank you so much for the kind words. That is really high praise coming from you - the man who answers most of the questions on this forum < s >.
