and where you see mailslot - put the IP address ...

can't say one way or another if it will work - but it's worth a try.
The netsend sometimes works across IP to the internet - depending on the firewalls and proxies - but you said the IP addresses were known [so worth a shot, I think].

Also - you mentioned that the IM was JAVA ? Should be some way to send into the JAVA IM if the app has some interface ..
