I need to know whether I can just do a quick reverse engineer of the table, and create new records - or whether there are hidden potholes. The database structure seems extremely simple, but the contactID string is weird, not just a sequential number but things like -> 001((£J001()On and 001((·3001()N® which seems to be a sequential number recoded into a string.

I called Telemagic tech support and they were willing to tell me the ContactID key field generating formula. The client I was working for had a large Telemagic installation, thus, they were willing to provide me with this information.

When I did this Telemagic was willing to sell the code for the Telemagic system and allow the company I worked for to modify it in any way they wanted. The client I worked for did not buy the code.

If you're really stumped the option of purchasing the code still should be available. Also depending on the version you buy its in the docs.
