Thanks for that, however, this is a cheapy little job that has to be done within the week. The client is cash short. I'm doing the job on a trade work basis [using a barter network] just to get in the door for future work. My guess is he's thinking of about $500 of trade. I have to bridge data from an VB/Access system into Telemagic. I've hacked into the data format of the Access system to figure which data to extract, all I have to do is match the data format to the fields of Telemagic, and I think I can write the whole thing in less than a day.

I talked to him about importing the data manually rather than a program poking it in, and he's ok with that, so that would save figuring out the client number algorithm.
