I think MS is starting to get the development community thing, and wish they could transport the fox spirit over to other platforms. I do think they underestimate VFP's value however. If and when I move away from fox, it will be away from MS; for development, desktops, servers. VFP is the only reason I still put up with MS, my boss is of the same mindset.
