The Mere Mortals .NET Framework
I am having a problem with stepping through MM.Net code in the debugger. I did it before, but now it does not work. My code stops at the break points fine, but MM’s code shows question marks and a message that the source code is not available. I have checked all possible causes: debug mode, setting paths for symbol files in the solution property, timestamp of DLL and PDB. Everything looks fine. I even created a simple brand new project with the same result. In the Moduls window all moduls are loaded except MM’s dlls. If I do Reload Symbols and find corresponding PDB file, nothing happens: still “No symbols loaded”. I noticed that the original location of MM’s DLLs is c:\windows\assembly\gac\... and the files could not be found there. I checked the actual location and see that it’s c:\windows\assembly. I don’t have GAC folder at all. I read in the MM guide that the installation program puts MM’s DLLs to the Global Assembly Cache (GAC).
Is it my Windows XP or a new 1.1.3 version of MM Framework? I don’t want to mess with Window’s folders. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Slava
