Hi Jos,
1) a) You can use scx as table and locate record for: lower(baseclass)="grid" and lower(class)="oldgrid" and lower(classloc)="oldgridclasslibrary" and replace fields class and classloc.
b) Or you can use th-sw for editing vcx/scx "VcxEditor" by Rock Legendre or "Quick and dirty VCX and SCX editor" by Wes Tatter

2-3) Any pitfalls - if you define columns in your grid class.
