Hi Tamar,
I have to say that HackFox 3 was the most useful tech book I ever bought because I was transitioning from FP 2.6 to VFP 3 and was unclear on some concepts. At my billing rate at the time, the cost of the book represented about 45 minutes <g>. Not unreasonable.
I can remember having many epiphanies (sp?) when researching issues with the HackFox book. You and Ted are VFP heroes for that work.
However, there are people like Walter who figure it all out for themselves and don't need reference material. I don't think it's fair to slam them for being that way. I used to think I was that way until one dark night in late 1994 when I realized I had no idea what the hell QueryUnload was <g>.
>>I personally never did buy any VFP book myself, never subscribed to a VFP magazine, never visited a conference, yet I do regard myself as a reasonable VFP developer.

>And, to some extent, then, it's people like you who make it unprofitable to publish VFP books. Do you really believe that you wouldn't have gotten US$50 value from, say, KiloFox? How much would you have to learn from a book to have it pay for itself?
