Many thanks for your input. I installed my application through Installshield Express and it worked. I can only surmise that the appropriate merge modules for VFP runtimes and resource files were not included when registering by hand (which is explained in the article you mentioned), thereby affecting registry keys as you have suggested.

Next step is to find out which registry keys!
