Hello Jos,

I hope to continue to see new versions of VFP come out, but I have what need to keep going with the current version. In fact I can live with anything past VFP6sp3 (which I believe can be run on Linux using freely distributed RT). But, once they announce that VFP is not being actively developed, it will become an even harder sell for new projects. I am lucky to be in a position where I have job security for a long time going forward and I drive the technology here so I can stay in fox as long as I wish. Those selling 'packages' can hang with the fox for a long time also, since nobody cares what language shrink wrapped products are written in. Consultants, especially developing for larger corporations might have a tougher time:)

>Hi Rob, I just wanted to jump in here and say that I agree with your posts. We are in a similar boat. VFP will easily carry us for several years to come without any issues. During this time one can easily survey the landscape and I dont see MS dropping VFP anytime soon - not if they keep bringing out these new versions :)
