I assume you meant VFP5 (or maybe 3?). There was no Version 4.

In any case, the migration from 6 to 8 is pretty painless. There are a couple of documented changes that you have to watch out for but nothing major IMO. And you can always ask here for guidance should you encounter any of those.

Just for info, off the top of my head:
  • Menu structure changes if you use icons -- you cannot the go back to VFP6 easily (there is a workaround).
  • SQL data engine behavior changed to make irt more ANSI compliant. See SET ENGINE BEHAVIOR in help.
  • Table validation changes. See SET VALIDATION.

    I probably forget a couple more but I'm sure someone will chime in. In any case, the point is that conversion should be easy.
