>Isn't it interesting how the Bush administration is all for free trade and outsourcing U.S. jobs, but has a problem with U.S. citizens buying cheaper drugs from Canada? The only argument I have heard supporting the ban on buying drugs from Canada is that the FDA can't assure their quality. Has anyone else heard a better argument.

Chris;

1. Pharmaceutical lobbyist paying politicians to give them more control over drugs allowed in the United States.

2. Pharmaceutical companies giving large political contributions to candidates.

3. Pharmaceutical companies are paranoid and want to protect their interests and profits.

4. Some Pharmaceuticals are made in the United States and sold in Canada, for substantially less money. Canada had been threatened by the United States pharmaceutical companies with the backing of specific politicians, that they will pay more if they continue to supply American made drugs at reduced rates to the United States.

5. The Post Office has stated whey will confiscate any package, which appears to have drugs shipped from Canada.

6. A number of critical drugs produced here have gone up in price by a huge amount. The reason given, “research and development costs money”!

7. I think this is a matter of greed and nothing more.

Why must we be prisoners of our own system? Supply/demand? I am back to greed as the underlying principle in this matter.

We have our own quality problems:
