I checked, one of my crew had already disabled the AV stuff in an attempt to speed things up.. it didn't help.

As for the changes, the only changes have been the regular MS updates, which as you mentioned are not easily rolled back. The Iomega NAS device does not get those updates, per Iomega as they won't support it if you load the updates.

We're entirely a W2K shop, XP is only deployed in testing at present and not with this application.

I kept going back to some sort of deadly brew between the workstations and the server (NAS), but, late today we had a duplication problem even on the server that had been clean all day.
