Greg,
Not an option in this case, but thanks for the suggestion. GP is currently being re-written by MS in some .NET platform. The current legacy code is being maintained and upgraded to some degree by a local company until the rollout of Great Plains .NET.
For anyone else that might be looking at these products, it looks like the Continuum tool is a combination of COM server with hooks into some of the GP innards and a couple of wizards for generating VB and Delphi wrapper code to make it easier for those programmers to get to the Continuum COM objects. This is partly speculation because of the unavailability of real info about Continuum.

> You may want to take a look at Pro Series from AccPac. It is is written in VFP and has VFP source code license option. They now also offer a SQL Server backend version as well.

>From everything I've heard the Great Plains product is in transition right now anyway and is being re-written from scratch. The word is MS pretty much bought the company for the installed base and that the application itself is rather dated. But I'm not keeping close tabs on it so things may have already improved.

>>Ken,
>>I'm looking into Great Plains accounting and the Continuum tool for integration with another application. The web site makes it appear that VFP is not well suited for this. On one hand the site says any COM comliant tool can be used, but on the other specifies VB or Delphi for using it properly.
>>
>>Can this be true or is it another example of the profound ignorance of MS in general concerning VFP?
>>
>>I know that it must seem that people here seem disappointed that you don't march into Bill's office and "set things straight", but thanks for your efforts to keep VFP as visible as you have!

>>On the MS web site:
>>Continuum can be used with any COM-compliant development environment such as Visual Studio or Visual Studio .NET. Continuum installs a set of programmable COM objects and supporting tools for the development environment. In order to use the wizards, which are a component of Continuum, you must use Visual Basic 6.0 or earlier. If you use Delphi, you must use Delphi 5.0 or earlier.
