>I just recieved an invoice from our IS department for 3200.00 for 3 MSDN subscriptions. They said that is the only way now to get from VFP8.0 to VFP9.0. Has MS decided to not sell VFP9.0 new? I can't imaging that 3 VFP9.0 licenses would exceed 3200.00. Is this really the only way to go? Are there features of MSDN that may be worth having one license?

Why do you assume that what your IS department tells you about VFP is correct? Wouldn't it make more sense to confirm this from Microsoft before you make the assumption is true or not? Microsoft has not announced or launched the next version of VFP yet (code named Europa), but you and others should expect that what we did for VFP 8.0 will be similar for VFP 9.0, and that what information you are hearing from your IT department is incorrect. I can't say more than this at this time.

MSDN subscriptions is a great value for obtaining VFP if you need more than just VFP (like Windows, Visual Studio, and other software bundled), as well as early access to releases (as product boxes take about 6-8 weeks to hit the streets versus MSDN which allows downloads immediately after a product is released).

A side note though, unrelated (wink). Yesterday evening after 5:00pm at work, I had a meeting with Randy Brown followed by another one with Alan Griver having them review a list of new features in Europa I documented that is part of early stage planning for branding and packaging for Europa, color of the box, etc. :)
