One idea from our experience with error #2072.

We were able to work around a pesky occurrence of this error in code called from a VALID event by not creating the new record there. Instead we delayed the record creation until the LOSTFOCUS event.

I have no idea if this approach is viable given the Visual FoxExpress framework or, indeed, if it would be helpful with your particular problem. It was, however, a successful workaround in our case.
