Okay, I see. We have appended records to the live database in the past (although not that frequently). We must've gotten lucky that we didn't mess anything up. Plus, a lot of the times, we update system tables that no one else can write to for the most part. But, since this one is constantly added to, my append must've conflicted. You think it's possible that the server locked up because of this? In any case, today I added those records I was trying to add yesterday, only this time I played it very safe: I used scatter/gather to get the records in (there were only 7) and made sure I had an RLOCK() after each APPEND BLANK.
