Hello Ken,
I am using VFP8, got it within a week of its public availability, 2 full copies. I purchased VFP7 exactly the same way. I get one copy for the office, one for my home. This time around I will probably get the MSDN, which I understand I will only need 1 copy to use on multiple machines as long as I am the only user. My only gripe is I do not believe the MSDN subscriptions are properly attributed to VFP sales/use, even though you have told me in person that this is not the case. In addition I have converted about 20 people to fox over my career, a couple have moved on to something else, but most are currently using V7 or V8.
I am planning on purchasing Versions 10,11,12,...
I am pretty certain you will not find a more avid and long term fan of the fox anywhere, I have spent my entire professional career using fox products almost exclusively (I started with DBaseIII but that only lasted until 10 minutes after I saw Foxbase). I believe that VFP is the best tool and the most cost effective tool around - bar none. If I didn't think so I would have already moved on.
That being said, I think MS is steamrolling in the wrong direction and in my opinion will suffer the same fate as IBM.
Just my $.02 worth
PS: How about a comment on my post explaining that VFP keeps me in MS products (servers, desktop, office, etc) and that a single VFP purchase actually generates 10's of thousands of dollars of revenue for MS.
PPS: I applaud and respect your efforts considering the very tough position your put in by MS, walking a fine line.
Bob
>>> I hope to continue to see new versions of VFP come out, but I have what need to keep going with the current version. In fact I can live with anything past VFP6sp3

>So why aren't you using VFP 8.0? This seems like saying "I hope candidate A wins the election, but I don't plan to vote".
