I don't think so. This would apply to most products if it was the case.
As you said you was considering to get an MSDN subscription, I just have to say that it is a great idea. It is amazing the amount of products you'll never notice otherwise, and that can provide incredible value, or a good deal of fun: Virtual PC, Office 2003 InfoPath, BizTalk Server!!!
For any hardcode, Windows-based developer, MSDN is a must (if you can afford it).
