Now article is submitted and ready to be released in April. It covers all aspects I know of themes support in VFP, not only ActiveX problem.
I was playing with older comctl and always see images in image list corrupted after some actions. Because of this and other problems I decided to reccomend it as temporary "on your own risk" solution only. I think you are agree with me.
