I fully agree. It is more likely that more people will misunderstand what I write than the number that will understand it. Having said that, if someone takes offense or just simply misinterprets my comments I feel it is simply a matter of
good manners and
professional courtesy to reply with "I'm sorry you misunderstood" and to attempt to rephrase my comments for the individual that misunderstood the meaning of my words. It is not such a big deal to write it again using different words in order to be understood. Unless the writer really doesn't care of course....

I think that, especcially in a forum like this one, generally speaking it's a good habit to simply apologize and rephrase words if someone else expresses having understood the words different from what was meant. Like "Sorry, that was not what I meant...blabla".>
