I agree. Doing some of those things programmatically is a good way to learn the language. That is how I learned a lot more in VFP is doing more programmatically rather than visually or with any of the wizards. I saw a demo on microsoft's site of some of the new features in whidbey. they basically showed some wizard type stuff that I would not be likely to use. One where you select your table in a sql server list of tables available and drag that to a form which puts a grid with some basic editing capabilities on the form. That seems like one of those things that is fine as long as you are not going to try to modify generated code.
