>Hi our company i currently consider MM.NET for our new project using c#.my question is specially for us that is new from C#.what are the major benefits for us in using MM.NET ?if we use Rational Rose for C# + MM.NEt would it make the development more fast? tnx.

One of the biggest benefits of using MM .NET is it guides you in creating n-tier applications that can be accessed from the desktop or the Internet. We provide business objects where you place the majority of your application logic, which provides the scalability from desktop to the Internet, and also provides data access flexibility, even allowing you to switch dynamically between different databases (such as Oracle, SQL Server, VFP) at run time.

We have also eliminated the need for writing many lines of data binding code that you normally need in .NET applications. Instead, by means of our intelligent data binding, you can simply set a few properties to bind your user interface controls. We have also added user and role security at the Windows Forms and Web Forms level so you can easily specify the user or role access level (full, none, read-only) for any user interface element. We are also just finishing up localization for both Windows and Web Forms. You can create an application in your original language, and later use our run-time wizards to translate the user interface text to other languages.

These are a few of the bigger items, there's actually much more. You can download a copy of our developer's guide (http://www.oakleafsd.com) to learn more.

By the way, rather than using Rational Rose, you should use Rational XDE with VS .NET, since Rose does not integrate with the VS .NET environment. If you find Rational XDE too expensive, you COULD try using Visio instead (it's nowhere near as capable as Rational XDE, but it's much cheaper <s>). If you're interested in using Visio, I've co-authored a book on using Visio with VS .NET:
