>>There is a big effort at Microsoft to add new features to Visual Studio programming that include the same great data-cenric features of VFP.

>This will be great, i view C# as VFP on steroid! It has almost everything i would love to be added to VFP but lacks the ease of working with data VFP has always had. I beleive the only thing that will hold me from switching to .Net is the re-write of all our VFP code... Is there any plan at MS to write a VFP->.Net conversion ?

In terms of source code, no, since not only are there various differences making it difficult to map each line of code, but in the end, you want and need to architect application differently using various components. It is like mapping a FoxPro 2.x PRG or SPR @ SAY/GET program to a VFP 3.x or later SCX event and object centric form. While you can map the code, in the end, it is best to re-write it properly for the environment you are in. There are more materials coming for msdn.com that educated VFP developers on .NET. An increasingly amount of VFP developers are learning .NET programming, and also using ASP.NET for the web part of VFP applications.
