>Hi friends,
> We have developed an asp application for remote users which is installed on application server and the database is stored on another machine i.e. server located on lan. Whenever any remote user is trying to access the file using asp he gets the message cannot open file "\\192.168.0.45\d$\...'. We are using dsnless connection. When i use the dsnless connection from the application server using vfp it works.

Bhavesh,

Note that 192.168... is usually an internal IP address that gets translated at the router/firewall to an external IP address that is very different. So external users may not "see" your internal IP address.

As for security/restrictions, also remember that you have to check user authentication method. In IIS for example, the default user, if no authentication is done, is IUSR... which needs the proper access to your website virtual folders (read, write, maybe execute).
