Last Thursday I upgraded my XP-home system to XP-Pro using the MSDN DVD from Feb/04. I followed that by installing those Windows components that were not available in XP-home and then I uploaded and installed 16 critical fixes/patches from the Windows Update site.

All seemed gloriously good after the exercise and I was most pleased.

I've noticed a problem, though, that is very irritating and seems to have started only since that upgrade...

When editing in RoboHelp WYSIWYG or Word 2003 I am used to using the CTRL key in conjunction with the "u", "b" or "i" key to set underlining, bolding or italics on/off.
Apparently since the upgrade the CTRL key is having no effect, so instead of getting, say bolding/unbolding of the word "word" I end up with "bwordb". When I Backspace and do it again it "takes" as desired. I have watched carefully and I can attest that I am hitting the CTRL key squarely, firmly and correctly in every case.

Is anyone else suffering from this OR does anyone know of some setting that might be implicated?

Thanks
