The term “traditional” is easily misused. In the music industry (rock etc.) it could be something from one year ago. Mainly it seems to be a marketing term. It separates the “old from the new”!

Surely you want to be associated with the latest – greatest? Why that release of Visual Studio .NET version 1.1 one year ago is “traditional”! In fact it will be “obsolete” in a few days. You had better upgrade to version 2.0 as it has a better report writer, etc.

The term “traditional ASP” comes up often. It is an indication of an older technology. What I like about ASP is you could see it was going to hit the wall with the release of version 3.0. It was limited and not stable. Technology can only go so far when you choose a specific path. What is the best path? It depends upon the salesman! :)

>Sort of off-topic here. There is an article in Pinnacle's Hardcore VS.Net re: What's new in ASP.Net Whidbey?, that discusses Precompilation stating that: Traditional ASP.Net pages... I just attended one of MS Webcast this week about ASP.Net something and the speaker noted something about Traditional ASP... Its Friday and I was just wondering what is scoped when you refer to something as traditional even though its not really gotten mainstream yet.
