>I might take issue with your statement, “Michel's job is only to use what the advertiser provides”. IMO it does not look professional to advertise something that is not up to date. It may not reflect upon the UT or Michel, but it does standout to some people. Michel was kind enough to say he would contact VMP. He did not have to. I see nothing wrong with an observation being related and Michel have the folks at VMP update their ad.

>Now as for your quoted statement above, that is reminiscent of the advertising desk of radio and television stations, and other media. Do not concern yourself with content, etc. You have no responsibility except to show what the advertiser has to present and take payment for your service.

Be careful where you wander here. I have several years of experience in the broadcast industry and am VERY familiar with what goes on there. But, since you ventured in, I'll follow along.

Broadcasting outlets are responsible for the material placed on the air. They are, by law, responsible for content of the ad that goes out. It can't be obscene, must adhere to community standards, etc. (There is ample evidence in the last month as to what happens when there is a violation of the law.) They are by no means responsible to change an ad after the date of a sale, etc. mentioned in the ad has past...unless bound by the contract to remove the ad and they continue to play it.
