May I recommend ISED Quickpdf, a great product that does that in a really clean way. The product is both unexpensive and easy to install (a com dll full-stop!). Life would be easier if all win32 components behaved the way it does...

I have tested a couple of other products including both the top performer pdflib and activepdf (nice documentation).

ISED Quickpdf license-free tool is a clear winner if you need to deploy on workstations. For server-based top performance, i'd recommend pdflib.
