Hi Jim,

I don´t think this is totally correct. I remember I wrote a FPW 2.6 systems which was capable to handle large fonts correctly.

I never did an extensive investigation on this within VFP, but I think you can try to set the scalemode to foxels (in stead of pixels) and use a font (like MS sans serif?) that resizes with the display settings.

I truly think this is possible within VFP, though I never bothered to adapt my applications to large fonts. I know there are some issues with most activeX controls as they might resize the fonts used in them causing ugly GUI results. I had to deal with some of these issues in the past, and I workarround that by just adjusting the fontsize when large fonts are used.

>I belief (and I get some grief because of it) is that MS has done only half the job when it comes to large fonts - they've taken care of the font itself but have totally disregarded the 'container' (or bounds, if you prefer) that they are in. Even XP - which was supposed to enhance the user experience - did nothing about the problem. And the prevalence of screens with ever-smalling resolutions only adds to the problem.

>UPDATE: I should have mentioned that the way I 'solved' this for my own personal usage was to get a 18 inch LCD screen (19 would have been better but too pricey at the time) that displays 1280x1024, just like a 17incher. The extra inch give me enough size to the small fonts that I can read them very reasonably.
