In my vfp application I use the WinApi ShellExecute to run a .BAT file which makes a phone connection to a remote site and the maps a drive to a folder on the remote site with NET USE. I then copy files from the local machine to the remote machine and then disconnect. My vfp executable is set up in a Scheduled task on WinXP so that this transfer of files is done in the middle of the night.
This works about 80% of the time. The rest of the time, the files are never transferred and the modem is still connected in the morning. I even set up a second scheduled task that runs 1/2 hour after the first task and it simply does a RASDIAL /disconnect. Yet, the modem stays connected. Its almost as though after making the inital connection, the modem stops responding yet retains the connection - no files are copied and all attempts to disconnect are ignored.
Does anyone have any suggestions or insight on what is happening here?
Thanks,
Alan
