Yeah, the technology and effects are definitely a step ( or steps ) up (Although FP effects were excellent for the time period). But I think a lot of the stories and maybe the acting too was better than much produced today.

I still enjoy watching a lot of those old SF movies even though the effects are crude compared to today.
