Jeffrey,

If you want a straight-line no-nonsense solution that'll surely please those non-SQL types, I recommend FoxFire at http://www.micromegasystems.com/.

It's a stand-alone ad-hoc query tool that has a reasonable interface, comes with source, and works with all versions of FP and VFP. It's not perfect but I've always found FoxFire to snap-in cleanly (either stand-alone or integrated into an app) and, once set-up, it's worry-free.

Consider also their end-user documentation because it comes with developer-level instructions and the end-user stuff is great to get others up to speed.

FoxFire is a good component and I've used it for years.
