NT is more precise in keeping track of applications' use of directories. For example just having NT Explorer open and pointing at this directory is enough for NT to disallow you from removing it from a co-session.

There isn't a thing you can do about it other than make sure other apps turn their focus away from the condemed directory beforehand.
