>>When writing or translating for the UT-magazine, I used Word (text-only), and turned off the option of using the nicer, rounded quotation marks ("comillas tipográficas" in Spanish). Now, I am wondering, is this necessary? Would the rounded quotation marks cause problems in an HTML text? I think they would cause trouble, but I am not sure.

OK, I will continue as before.

The option is:

"Herramientas | Autocorrección | Autoformato mientras escribe | Comillas rectas por comillas tipográficas"

Translating back into English, and probably incorrectly: "Tools | Auto-correction | Autoformat while you type | straight quotations to typographic quotations"

For a single quotation mark, you can press "Undo" to turn it back into straight quotation marks, but that gets tiring after a while.
