I need to create a brand new record in a sql table. I have a data environment that gets the data from a sql view with an alias of spt_new. In the getsqlstring instead of running a sql query I put a create cursor command to create spt_new and then when I call the new() function it does not work. But if I change my getsqlstring to create the cursor from the view which has a dummy blank record I query for, it works fine. How do I get to use a cursor but not have to query the view first.
