Title:
'Not a table' on Japanese OS
I have a VFP 7 sp1 (English) application that has been running for several years. It runs fine in numerous countries. I recently added a dozen customers in Japan. It wouldn’t run on Win2K nor Win98se if they are the Japanese version. It will run if they are the English version. (I can’t dictate what version of OS they run). I get messages at startup when I do
IF NOT USED(“AppInfo”)
USE AppInfo IN 0 again ALIAS AppInfo
That says ‘Not a table’.
I am using SDT 5.1j which might be re-writing the dbf header or messing with the DBC. I am also poking a Japanese codepage into the header using CPZero.prg on startup.
On the other hand, when I program around SDT and CPZero and just try to open the table manually, I get ‘File is in use’. I opens fine in VFP (English)
Does anyone have experience running a VFP application written and compiled using an English version of VFP but executing the application on a Japanese OS? I wonder what would happen using a Chinese OS?
